We had a weekend outing two weekends ago (the weekend after Christmas) with another family. Our friends, the Wiegerts, who we made an instant connection with upon arriving here. What a blessing they have been!! It's always a good sign when you can take an overnight trip with another couple (and kids) and still have a great time together! Anyway, such a fabulous place and such a wonderful time! Everything went perfectly - the kids even took their naps - very relaxing - and a nice escape.
The place is called Blue Diamond and it's only a couple of hours out of town. Nicely laid out, good food, attentive service, clean beach, pool, massages on the beach, and a few hammocks hanging around to complete the ambiance. There have not been many places we've visited that I've said I'll visit again but this one - definitely. I cannot WAIT!!

Lots of lounging around and sand castle building
In my next post, I'll highlight the fisherman adjacent to this beach. We were able to watch them reel the fish in with the net from start to finish - something I've always wanted to do since living here.
This little excursion was a good way to spend a few days over a very long Christmas break.
